Frozen in Time

This week I have been working on a small commission for a customer that wanted a unique present for her parents that live in San Francisco. She wanted to capture her children's hand prints for prosperity.

The children's hand prints were made into a mould suitable for firing glass into.




It was then fired to dry it out ready to cast the glass into.




Coloured glass was chosen to make a border around the glass. This was then painted on with traditional glass paints and then the date, names of the children and a small poem scratched out.



These were then fired in the kiln before leading.
