Sunday Morning Walk

Not one to miss the opportunity to have a walk by the sea. I was up early yesterday after a very late night out with friends in Swansea to have one good walk before heading back to Ireland on the afternoon ferry. I could have kicked myself for not taking my digital camera with me when I spotted a seal bobbing about in the sea and the camera on my phone not good enough to take it. But here are some images I took on my walk some which I have manipulated on my phone camera which I love playing around with.

Unexpected Trip to Wales

I haven't got much work done in my studio over the last few weeks, especially with an unexpected trip to Wales to see my sister who has not been well. But not one to sit down and do nothing while my niece was at school and my sister laid up in bed. I got to work knocking a couple chimney stacks down in a bedroom and kitchen so that she can get the central heating fitted.

Creative Thirst

I have been accepted on a programme at Ulster University called "Creative Thirst". It is about setting up your own business in the Creative Industries. The course content is accredited by CCEA and the Open College Network Northern Ireland and in partnership with the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. It will be interesting to see how it goes as it is quite intensive two evenings a week and the odd Saturday over 11 weeks and based in Londonderry so will mean lots of travelling back and for.

Exhibition Opening Zipper Sculpture

My friend Bonnie Soroke who I met through a community arts workshop ran by CAF had the opening of her exhibition tonight. It is the first exhibition of her work and I was excited to see what she has been doing. I knew that she worked with zips and she was using them to represent people, but that was the only part of the concept of her artwork that I was aware of so I couldn't wait to see it. If you want to go and see it, it's at the
Arts Care Gallery
2nd Floor Lift Lobby
Withers
Musgrave Park Hospital, Belfast
continues until May 17th

Hillsborough & Strangford

This was part of the second day of our tour.
Hillsborough is a little bit of England in Northern Ireland, It is where Hillsborough Castle is located & where the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland resides. Lovely Georgian architecture with lovely mews houses located through arched driveways.
Strangford is located at one side of Strangford Lough with Portaferry on the other side which is part of the Ards Peninsula. There is a car ferry that transports you across the mouth of the Lough.

North Antrim Coast

I have spent the last few days as a tour guide for an old friend of my husbands that is visiting Belfast at the moment. So have spent a few days driving all around different parts of Northern Ireland. Here are some photo's from the North Antrim Coast including the Giants Causeway.

A Week of Making

I've had a busy time of making bits and pieces over the last week or so, mostly jewellery for the display cabinet at Templepatrick.
Sales have been steady and was told that mine is the busies display cabinet they have. I'm all the time trying to think of new things to do and put in there, so also busy making a new line of coasters ect. I have been making a few new designs in my jewellery range too, so it will be interesting to see how they sell and what people think. I've also made some rings so will be interested to see if they sell at all.
