St George's Market Art & Craft Fayre 12 Days of Christmas

Make sure you fit this event into your Christmas calendar.

For the first time, St Georges Market, Belfast are having a 12 days of Christmas Fayre from 9th -14th & 16th - 21st December.
It's going to be special....so add it onto your Christmas to do list this year.

Wine Glass Charms

Had cut up a load of glass in the summer that was given to me by a local framer who usually puts all his scrap straight in the bin.

I had cut them into small squares and in the back of mind thought I might have a go at making some charms to go on wine glasses.

So after some thought I found some copper foil that was lying around the studio and the use of some crafters punches I came up with these.



Drilled a hole in them and added a jump ring to them.



And used memory wire to add a loop then added some seed beads to finish them off.
Here they are ready for sale. They make great teacher presents.

Chilly Day Out

It's a bit on the chilly side today, so I thought I'd make something to warm me up!



Just need to copper foil& Solder them & string them up on some raffia. Happy Days!

Wedding Commission

Here's a piece I've just finished for a couple who have just got married. The cats, hens & tree all relate to their lives & the second layer was signed by all the guests as a memory of the day. Which they will have too look at everyday!

St George's Sunday Market, Belfast

Another day trading at St George's market. The Sunday market is getting busier by the week with more and more artists & craftspeople selling their products & artwork as well as customers.

Together with great coffee & food which has such a amazing reputation already in Belfast. Its a great place to shop, relax & meet friends. It's also the only place to shop in Belfast on a Sunday morning. Open 10 - 4 every Sunday.

Stars for Christmas

I have been busy making kiln fused stars ready for Christmas over the last few weeks. Hope to have some at St George's Market from this weekend.

Commission for Hallway / Lounge

Finally the commission I have been working on for the last few weeks is finished and ready to install. Can't wait to see it in situ.

Battening Down the Hatches

Wild, windy and wet day in Northern Ireland today as we get the tail end of the hurricane that battered the East Coast of the States. So instead of working in the studio I have spent the day trying to work on my new website.

Will have some of my jewellery and giftware as well as angels & stars for Christmas. Here's a small sample of some of the products I will be selling.

Busy Month in the Studio

I can't believe that it has been a whole month since I wrote my last blog entry. How time flies when you are busy!. Here are a few things I have been working on.

Some Wind Chimes for the Garden

I made a fused heart for a friend a few weeks back to go in the garden. This got me thinking what else I could make that could be used in the garden and I came across the idea of wind chimes.

I thought about making a fused heart and then sawing it into strips but was unsure it would be balanced right to hang properly. I put on my thinking cap and this is what I have come up with. I am hoping that because they are all the same size they will hang nicely.

I just need to get some driftwood or something similar to hang them from

Some New Work

I have had a busy few days making some new work and playing around with some new ideas. Here's the process and the finished panels. Will try to take some better images tomorrow.

The two glass panels are sandblasted and have coloured glass bonded onto them using a two part silicon. Messy process but does the job.

More Fused Jewellery Making

I have had another craft shop interested in me supplying them with my jewellery & coasters, so another busy week in the studio making to replenish my stock. I have jewellery coming out my ears!!!

Playing around

Been playing around with mirror, tissue paper & PVA glue. Reminds me of being back in my first year at uni.
Thanks Norma for reminding me about tissue paper. I love how all the colours bleed into each other. So simple but effective

St George's Market

Will be back trading at St George's Market in Belfast this weekend after a couple of weeks off with a bad back. Can't wait to be back trading with just the best bunch of people. Happy Days!
